ISS to Participate in Western Regional Preparedness Conference

UNLV’s Institute for Security Studies will participate in the 2008 Western Regional Preparedness Conference as it did last year.

The conference, which will be held from July 15 through July 18 at The Renaissance Hotel in Las Vegas, is hosted by the Area Health Education Center of Southern Nevada (AHEC). The conference attracts those in security-related fields, including Homeland Security personnel, emergency management professionals, first responders, health care and mental health professionals, and government and public health personnel.

This year Ross Bryant, ISS Director of Training, will introduce the conference keynote speakers and assist with coordination of the conference. The ISS will also participate in the conference by offering its Basic Disaster Life Support medical training on July 18.
